Stella Maris (Einstürzende Neubauten) - Meret Becker, Blixa Bargeld

We missed each other in our dreams.

You dream me, I you

Don't worry, I won't wake you

Before you wake up yourself

Tendrils turnstile through each other without touching, extending into the sun. Wave slides over wave, dream dissolves into reverie, hiding under eyelids that are gently carressed by sunlight. Light enters through blinds, hesitant, unsure whether to wake the lover from sleep.

Please, please don't wake me

Only as long as I dream you exist...

What is the meaning of waiting? of wanting to meet? wanting to live in the dream of anticipation? of dissolving in the idea because it exists, of dissolving in eyes that are more beautiful than the idea, of dissolving in eyes that open skies in a dream, and skies that open eyelids on waking?

You dream me, I you

Don't worry, I won't wake you

Before you wake up by yourself

You dream me, I you

Don't worry, I'll find you,

Collared in a doze I'll grab you

And pull you towards me

For you dream me, I you

I dream you, you me

We dream each other awake.

The drum breathes a whispering rhythm that is not yet a heart. Where the moon comes to rest, where the wind comes to rest - in the highest valley where it cannot even hear itself, between longing and meeting, I wait for you to appear.

Don’t worry, I will find you.

We dream each other awake.
